Second Thursday of each month at 10:30 am or 12 pm, Zoom.
This is a community of practice/learning model that provides education, potential action, and practice about how to treat others. Join us on Zoom to explore our own history and identity; learn how to see things from others viewpoints; discuss how we can treat others in just and welcoming ways, and how we can change our own practices, environments, actions, and attitudes.
Each session will offer some education, opportunities for dialogue and practice, and reflection to take with you. Facilitated by Heather Quackenboss, Human Development and Relationships Education, and Kim Joki, JSS Diversion Coordinator.

Through centering intersectionality, we are committed to engaging in the critical dialogue necessary to effect the change we all desperately want to see in education—PK–12, higher education, informal and community-based educational spaces.
The intent is to simultaneously bring hope and commitment to revitalize, rejuvenate, and reinvigorate multicultural education. Don't miss this opportunity to learn and share strategies to eradicate disparities and inequities and illuminate the urgent need to unite to solve the world’s most pressing and confounding issues, including institutionalized racism, climate change, increasing hate-based violence, food insecurity and widening socio-economic gaps.

The Enduring Families Project at La Crosse Community Theatre

The Enduring Families Project is a theatre project which brings to life the stories of 19th Century African Americans that lived in La Crosse and its surrounding area: a presidential candidate, a politically active farmer, a vaudeville muscician, a woman boarding house owner, several barbers, including one woman who owned her own barbershop. These stories, told through reenactments, run the gamut of life experiences in 19th Century La Crosse.

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th, the last group of slaves in the south were given the news was given that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free.
